hi all,
currently doing a lot of walking and camping in the mournes at the moment. have dont a lot of mountain biking in the past, but seems to have taken second place with the walking. Im getting to be an old fart at 41 and like to take my time, a strained ankle is better than broken bones.
Yep, so hiking at present. love the outdoor freedom.
Sorry to those that do not like dogs, but i take my springer with me and to be honest i hate to think that the freedom to bring my dog will ever end.
I am a bit of a 'kit monkey' carry way to much but like to have the attitute of 'you never know'. At my age lol weight carrying should be an issue. yep 80-100litr packs with nothing but food and a coat, yep i am an idiot. oh forgot, i got to carry dog food. Yes, i like the field tested gear, nothing over the top though lol well i dont think so. AND goretex is not noisy, only at night! lol
Sprained ankle last week, feels ok now. Got a new pair of boots, la sportiva, flippin expensive, but hey i dont like sore ankles. the Asolo i have will be for the walk to the supermarket.
anyway, hope to start jumping in at time to time and maybe get to know some of you.

kit junkies. i got to be the worst. over spec pack, over spec tent, bivvy, water, wine lol food, gas, burner, ciggies, 10 lighters, more ciggies, gortex so people know where i am because they can hear me, 2 layer bag, socks, compass, map, light, saw, nife, plasters, bandages, er another saw just incase, another compass, sunny jim fire lighters.....................best best best thing ever are sunny jim, cotton wool, fire lighter, er er er anyway, bored going on about how much wine i carry, but i bring everything home that i should.
you will know me, im the one that thinks he is heading up for 2 months, be back down in the morning and looking like id been up there for 6 months.

yep 80-100litr packs with nothing but food and a coat
I'm starting to wonder if I'm being over optomistic to think that I can travel/camp/hike for 6 weeks with a 65L rucksack! Ack, sure who needs to bring a change of clothes, if I just bring merino I'll be fine!! Either that, or 80-100L pack is overkill for food and a coat ;)

honestly i know, but to be serious, it compacts down, only open up if i have tent, bag etc. the pack is comfortable either way and am just attached to it now.
please dont think that i am this super fit nut that loves to carry stuff. i am the most unfit person you could meet, i am just admitting that i am a kit monkey.

lol not sure how to take you at the moment, but hey let it run lol yep, i take a drink with me, i chill, am quiet with the surroundings, taking it all in, not wanting to scare the sheep. i take it home.
'we rock the people' ???????????? 'planet love'???????????/ im 41.........i cant do that anymore. i only have and take downed trees. its a 6inch saw, not something that needs petrol. the car does, dont they all. Sunny jims are class, never leave without a sunny jim or 2
